If you are looking for a reliable Cichlid dealer with excellent quality stock, then I highly recommend Bluegrass Aquatics http://bluegrassaquatics.com/ ran by Eddie Martin.  He is located in Middletown, Kentucky and has a large variety of African and South American Cichlids, as well as many other species.

You can visit him at his location, or you can buy direct from his website.  I have bought directly from him and everyone I have recommended to him, has been more than satisfied with their experience.  As a matter of fact, I plan on visiting him again soon!

I wish I had known about him

I wish I had known about him when I had my 75gallon African tank. It was always a struggle to find what I was looking for at local petshops. I had pretty good luck with Auburndale, but it was such a long drive. Pet Palace was hit or miss, as were others. I'll keep that guy in mind when I set up my next tank. Thanks!

I'm very interested in going with you when you go...  It's half way got me tempted to setup another african cichlid tank hahaha.  Like I need anything else right now.   Wink

Have you decided when you are

Have you decided when you are going to pick up your new fish?  Also what species are you considering adding?  I know you're getting some Mbuna but have you considered any of the smaller Haps as well?

I'm hoping this weekend I can

I'm hoping this weekend I can pay him a visit, but he has a collecting trip coming up soon so I may have to wait until he gets back.

No haps, going for more mbunas, but he just got in a few of the rarer species (wild caught) so I may consider those and possibly a couple of Synodontis petricola catfish.

The fish I'm looking at now are:

Afra Edwardi Cobue, Pseudotropheus flavus, Pseudotropheus Sp. (Elongatus Chewere), Metriaclima Lombardoi (Kenyi), Pseudotropheus Crabro (Bumble Bee), Iodotropheus Sprengerae (Rusty)

But I'm flexible too.  Last time he recommended a great selection and I had a nice mix of top, middle and bottom feeders as well as a nice display of color.  I trust his judgement so we'll have to see.
