Charlie's wild twin

I don't know whether I should post this here or in the members forum as an example of how diseased my brain is lately. I went out the other night to put some more food on the bird table so it would be well-stocked for the morning. The birds are awake and looking for food at 5am. I alas, am not, so I put the food out late at night. I was heading up to the bird table and saw something on it, merrily eating away. It was a little wood mouse, enjoying the bird seed. But, and this is the embarrassing part, my first thought was OMG! How did Charlie get out here!
Charlie is in a closed tank on the upper floor of the house. I'd seen him there just a few minutes previously!

Still, it's nice to know that the bird table even gets used at night.

Cute story! From your title I thought a member of his family had come to fetch him from you. But I guess real life is not much like a cartoon movie.

I have brain farts too. Can we do another brain fart thread? My latest one is this. I buy Dr. B's soap by the gallon, but I have one of the small jars on hand to refill into to leave in the tub. Anyway somehow the lid of my small one cracked a bit around the edges (I guess I dropped it one too many times), so I bought a new small jar. And waited until I used up my old one. Eh, this is getting to be too long a description for a small incident. Suffice to say, it took me over two weeks to realize that all I had to do was trade the caps. Rolling Eyes

My most common one is like this.

"Hi honey! I'm downtown!"
"That's nice."
"Why am I here?"
"You're going to the post office to get more stamps."
"Oh. Thank you!"

Actually, I think I'll move this to the members forum, I have other equally embarrassing examples.
