FAT CHANCE! |
|
An update for those of you who remember earlier this year the two wild orphaned mice I hand reared.
They are both doing really well. The girl, Chance, has put on heaps of weight and is now affectionatly known around here as Fat Chance! She loves her "sisters" and is great to handle, just like any other mouse here really. She is happy to get on your hand, run up your arm, all that stuff.
The boy, Tinker, is still on his own. Quick as anything and pretty good to handle, although a bit unpredicatalbe.
Still so thankful they both survived, don't want to do that again in a hurry!

Oh so glad to hear they're both doing so well. Give them mousy scritches for me (if they'll sit still long enough!).

Oh, me too. I didn't see your original post, but I can imagine how difficult it must have been to hand rear them.

Thanks for the update. I was wondering if you still had them.

When I was really young, between 10-12 my family hand-raised some orphaned wild meeces but unfortunately we set them free again I feel horrible about it now because I know they likely did not survive as they had no skills, but I was too young to know any better and I doubt my parents knew either. Poor little things, we thought we were helping them....
Anyway, I'm glad your little guys are doing well They sound very cute!
