Good News!

Well, okay, I have great news! Shanna sent me a PM today, saying she might have two Agouti boys from her last litter up for adoption. I talked to my parents, and they said yes! If all goes well, and they are actually getting put up for adoption, then I will be getting ratties in November rather than January!

Also, my friend PuzzlePower, who talked about her mom not letting her get rats, will be getting some also!

Now that I only have about 5 weeks to prepare, I am so, so excited!

Yeah, right now I am waiting for my mom to get on her Paypal account so I can pay for the water bottle and the eco-bedding. Does anyone have pictures of 4 month old rats? What do they usually act like, etc.

Well, I have a 4 month old rat, but he is not your average rat (we are still working out a few issues). When Eve and Faith were that age they were hyper, and really into exploring. I do not know how male rats would behave though, but I will find out soon Mr. Green

Ahh, it feels great to finally get parental approval for rat ownership, doesn't it? It took me so long but it was so worth it

Yes, she is getting two boys I was going to keep from that litter to possibly bring some Fawn Dumbos into my lines (since they both carry Fawn and Dumbo). I decided against that, since I have limited space right now and I am already working to get more Blues....so the Fawn Dumbo line will have to wait.

She already has a great cage, but the wire spacing is a little large for babies (it's a SuperPetz with 1" wire spacing), so these guys should be just right by the time they go home with her.

These guys are fairly active, though most of them time they are cuddled together in their hammock. They wrestle around alot, and are really amusing to watch. I have done some free range with them, and both are well behaved and easy to get back into the cage. They are super curious and very friendly - and both are licky boys. I am sure you will enjoy them. wink

Yay! Piccies! If you ever want to have the Fawn Dumbo lines, then I'd be glad to lend you one of the boys! (and hopefully I'd get one of the babies!) I have everything ready except for the water bottle and bedding, which I'm ordering this week. Mr. Green

Wow, I can't believe your parents made you wait a year!! Blink

That's amazing, wow... My parents let me pick a pet that I wanted when I was 11, and I chose rats, and I'm SO happy I did. I've only had my rats for a year and I can't believe I ever lived without 'em!

Oh, Sara, you are a lucky girl! Right in the next room, Gildaro & Little Bit's brothers are sleeping. Simon & Frisco came home with me in early September. They are VERY loving, affectionate, licky, curious, busy, active little guys. I am sure you'll have a blast with your boys- Shanna brings 'em up right!

. Didn't even get the details, either. Anyway, yes, i AM getting rats... at the end of the school year, as long as i get all As through the entire year. I have no doubt i can do it, but no, I am not getting the ones in Pottstown. Just wanted to elaborate that.

Um, I edited that. That was when you told me that you probably would be! Also, I ordered the water bottle and bedding! The water bottle's getting here on Wednesday and the bedding is being shipped when they get the check.

I think time is going to fly, I have a half day this Friday, and the Friday after next Friday. Then I have Thanksgiving break, and then I go get them!

You should have heard her. She was SOOOOO excited about the WATER BOTTLE! Who gets excited that a water bottle is coming? At first, i didnt mind, but then it got REALLY ANNOYING!
Not that i havent gotten excited about stupid things before, too....
