Never mind. I just deleted the original lotsarats. They registered back in 2003 and never posted. I found the account your registered and activated it. You should be able to log in now

Goosemoose...whats the max size for an avatar? It wont allow the one I have here on RP?? It says it's either not an avatar or too large?? I looked in the sigs and avatars post but it only lists the size for signatures....

Another heartfelt thank-you from me. Christy and Jason, I've had lots of fun on these forums over the years, and more importantly have learnt so much. They've helped me to look after my ratties properly, given me amazing advice when they've been sick, and comforted and supported me at the ends of their lives. I still pass on all the useful things I've learnt here to other rat owners, both on and off line, and I'm sure everyone else will do the same. That was the most valuable part of RP – the real community that grew here, made everyone welcome and shared their wisdom.
I can’t tell you how grateful I am to have had this ‘safe haven’. My only regret is that I didn’t find it in time to correct the mistakes I made with my first ratties. Thank you again, from P, Quaffle, Mr Nibbler, Dougal, Donnie, Charlie and Snoopy.

Deb, as soon as Britt gets Rats Ahoy! up I'm sure she'll contact me and I will post it up on the Home page of RP where all other announcements go. That way you just have to check one place.

I'm betting they will have something up before we close down though. Andy and Britt have been working hard on it.

thank goodness i'm not the only one who does that! i keep trying to use rp smilees with my yahoo messenger... and always feel slightly bewildered when they don't work!

and i agree with the mailing list idea..... i would definately want to be on it! but then you'd get this mad, overwhelming rush of people all trying to sign up at the exact same time as we all open our emails and find the cure to our rattie withdrawls!

I am so sorry to hear this. Your site has been an enormous help to me with all things rattie. I am so glad I found RP and had the opportunity of sharing everyone's knowledge. If it wasn't for RP, I would never have gotten ROUS Dexter and ROUS Galloway.

That happened to me to, but then I found I was signed in just not signed up for the e-mail which is where I kept trying to sign in at. If you scroll down on the left of the page it will show the different forums, just click "Rats Rule!" and it will take you into the forum. You should also have a confirmation e-mail from goosemoose in your regular e-mail account showing your sign in name and password. Then it will tell you to click link to activate.

Yup indeed - it should be ready before RP closes it's forum doors - some features will still be planned for future upgrades but the main forum functions will all be there. Because it's running on a different forum product, there are some slight differences in forum codes and so on, but I'm sure you guys will all pick them up easily. Brittany will, I'm sure, let everyone know when it's ready.

I havnt had Rats for very long and i only found Rat Palace in November last year but im here for the long haul. I have so many problems in my life because i am a rat owner and its great to be able to come to a place where people share common interests....smile

Can you believe this....yesterday at work i was told i am no longer allowed to discuss my girls at work.....other can talk about their cats and dogs but because my girls are dirty disease carrying animals i have to stop talking about them.....HUH

My girls are so clean...if they so much as touch a human they wash themselves so clean its not funny....they dont want human germs on them

I feel like im working in a communist organisation where they dictate what you say......NOT NICE....cant wait for long service leave then i quit....smile 10 months to struggle thru

How dare they....Phew...ok off my soap box now...smile

Rats Ahoy! What a cute name Mr. Green

Not talk about your rats at work?....that is definitely insane.

I quietly bring my ratties in to work in a carrier when I need to make vet visits on my lunch (the vet is 5 minutes from where I work and I live 45 minutes a way....so without this option, I'd have to take time off of work).
I'm always very quiet about it, as I just KNOW that someday someone will say something. And I'm already prepared. Evil or Very Mad

That's discrimination. I mean really. If you can't talk about your rats....no one else can talk about their cats or dogs.....or kids! wink

Oh wow. I am a very new member and I barely post (although I do try to get condolences out there), but this board has been amazingly helpful to me. Thank you ALL so much for the great information, advice, and caring. When I lost Frankie back in October, the people on this board were such a source of comfort. I can't thank you enough.

WOW, I left for a week, went to the Pro bowl and got online, now I am all sad..... Well Chritsy, I must say that I have only een a memebr for a year, however during this past year, I have made friends I will never forget. I always talk about my frinds from RP, even though I do not have any other contact with them. This site has been so wonderful, warm, caring, knowledgable and just enjoyable. I am so sad to know this is ending, however I understand that it can not be easy. Christy, if you ever decide to begin a forum like this, that has a monthly or yearly charge, I will be more than glad to join.... I love all the people here and of course all the rats.... I hate to say this, but I do not know how I will handle taking RP off my homepage. WOW... well I will miss you all and hope that everyone goes over to rats rule! See you there.....

i haven't been allowed to talk about my girls for years. i work for my parents and even tho several of my co-workers love them, one customer complained that they saw them (i don't see how as i always kept them out of sight) and since then my dad has been on high alert so that the customers don't see any of my rat paraphanalia. i have a rat calander that i had to put on the inside of my door so that it couldn't be seen from outside my office or my dad would constantly close my door. how could you not love those little whiskery faces... I ASK YOU....

any way... wayyyyyyy off topic.

As everyone else has noted, this has been one of the best boards I've been involved with, both in terms of content and friendliness. Heck, I've never even owned a rat, but my mice and rabbits have fared well from everyone's diverse background of information.
I joined shortly before my first mice found me (when I was intending to get rats) and now the last of my mice is in her winter, having just passed two years of age, so I suppose there is some irony in timing.
I will have to poke around and see where everyone else lands and check in from time to time. Best wishes for your future.

Ouch! I'm another one who's been away for a few days and come back to find this post - I feel like someone's locked me out of my house!

Gutted as I obviously am, I also would like to thank Christy and Jason for all their hard work in making this the first place I go to as soon as I get online. Although I've not posted much over the last year or so I still check the forum all the time. I'm another ex-Squeaker, so for the past 6 or 7 years these guys and all the other RP people have given me a home from home and taught me so much. I'll be signing up to RA straight away; hopefully if all you guys do too we'll be able to recreate at least some of the RP atmosphere! Great job Britt and Andy for getting the new forum up and running so fast - I think I would have panicked without knowing about that!

I'm using the same name on RA, so anyone who knows me here should be able to spot me there

NO! I just read the message this morning, and I'm crushed. Even though I haven't been here very long, I want to thank everyone who made my stay worthwhile. I thank the moderators and everyone who made this site possible. This is one of the best and most helpful sites I've ever found. Oh no!! I have not been on here for a good year due to many things going on in life, and now that life is starting to settle down, I decided to pop into Rat Palace to see what was happening, and was so sad to hear it is closing. I have been here for several years, and I felt like people on this board were an extended family. I am going to miss it, but I will be around on the other boards now that I am back. Thank you to Christy and to Jason for making this such a wonderful place where we all learned so much, and thanks to everyone who helped me along in some of the most difficult times in my life. I missed you all, I hope to see some familiar faces at the other boards!

I go away for a bit and I happen to come back on RP's last day. Sad

I've been a member since the beginning and it is definitely sad to see such a wonderful community come to an end. I have made so many friends and met so many wonderful people through this place, not to mention the countless amount of information and advice that I have gotten from here over the years. Thank you, Christy and Jason, for everything you've done. It won't be forgotten. I'll miss this place.
