ok again I have been with holding *pics*BIG UPDATE |
|
I bred one of my Purebred chocolate spotteds (chocolate broken marked ruby eyed) to a diluted Ruby eyed orange and white broken marked male... I admit I was expecting at least one orange and white....surprize they are all chocolate and white....however, their markings are increadible!!! The chocolate line is over 4 years old the orange and white is about 2...and the male was the first diluted I have ever had. These lines have never crossed before...I am a bit dissapointed yet thrilled. I will get pics of the parents soon as well as babies, unfortunatly for all of you mouse luvers..the litter was gone before it was born plus some. I dont even get to keep one unless 6 people back out. There were only 7 babies. Shaz

My chocolate spotteds if bred together..I have three differant distant lines from the same line....they will produce nothing but chocolate spotteds....just like my 14k gold and white lines if I breed two together I get 14ks and white...thats not the important thing though...My chocolate spotted line has been 2 years of breeding with no cancer, the oldest living to be almost 3 years...now that is what I am proud of and I have been working with that line(s) for 4 years...believe it or not they originated from a RED female...yup an obesce red gene girly, Copper Penny, a potatoe with legs. I bred the "red gene" out of them and got these gorgeous red eyed broken marked mice. My current longevity on a mouse was a PEW named princess, she lived to a ripe 5 years old and died of cancer. I never kept her babies, but I was a kid back then. I still can not believe it myself... With these those...obviously the chocolate spotted is the dominate gene, which surprises me but it doesnt...I have worked with the CS line for 4 years or so, and the orange only 2 years or so. They are still adorable, and almost look brindle, a bit of orange and a bit of chocolate...If I descide to keep on this line they are my PeanutButter Chocolate Swirls...hahhaaa oh btw Melina I had three people back out, that leaves one opening!! Shaz

Darn it. I just want two girls. I don't care what they look like. My little Petco reject girl has a tumor and I'm not sure how much longer she'll be around since it's inoperable.

Hi Shaz,
I'll take both if you'll allow it. I had a couple mice on reserve from a breeder in NY but that is not going to work out (babies died unexpectedly). And you know about your line a lot better Is Hershey Kiss a Satin? She looks really shiny hehe So which two meeces will be joining our ranks? In honor of the candy theme I think I'll name them Snickers and Twix BTW the 14k girl from the previous litter I've named All That Glitters
Aww Amanda... I still can't believe your girl came up with a tumor already Fear not, we should be able to provide you with a few girls soon

Do the babies have ruby eyes? They look black, but I do not know how the genetics would work out in that case.

Guess what? Copias and Kisses are going to be grand parents! The three people that backed out well I kept them so I could continue the line. I am not sure what we are going to get honestly. But they are going to be great looking meeces....I will post pics of the parents shortly! Shaz

I have sooooo many people in line for these mice but there are two litters comming. So if you want to get on a list for reserveations now would be a good time to speak up. Copias is the grandfather, and Hersheys Last Kiss is the great grandmother. This is the father of the upcomming babies
Copias Almond Kiss
This is one of the mothers to be..
Copias Carmel Kiss
The other mother to be
Copias Toffee Kiss and by the looks of it we should have babies tonight!!
Yes the mothers to be are seperated from poor lil Almond aka Al he looks so lonely now. Will keep you updated! Shaz[/img]

Surprize surprize..... Carmel Had her babies first...this afternoon with a total of 7....Toffee has certainly surprized me she was giving birth as I was watching! It was cool to see a few babies born. She had get ready 12!!! At last count.....so 19 babies! Moms are doing great, taking turns nursing...greatgrandma and mother are helping keep them warm. It looks like I have some pink eyes in there....so there is going to be some oranges!!! The rest are looking ruby eyed or black eyed and dark furred... I took some pics I have to get them downloaded for yous! Shaz

Babies...and a few are going to have pink eyes and ruby eyes...so I am really excited that means they cant have dark fur, so we are looking at orange or dilutes. The majority of them are red eyed. Here are some pics for your enjoyment...the paler blue babie in this one was only about 30 seconds old.
Here is the same babie 5 minutes later...isnt he cute!!! Yes it is a he..
More to come with a deffinate final count! Shaz

Forgot to add... Carmel was due tomorrow and Toffee was due ground hogs day. I hope with her large first litter and being two days late isnt going to hurt anything. All babies were born alive and well....so far no runts on either of them. Shaz

Not to mention that these mice are acctualy friendly and great parents. The chocolate line has been cancer free for a few years, the orange and white have been cancer free since I started it... The chocolates live to be two average give or take.. my oldest is going on three years old, the oranges live to be almost two. Never a sniffle in these and no tumors...I am very happy with these. Shaz
