I havent showed you guys Oreo...he is my only black banded mouse, not for breeding. When he was born his momma ate part of his tail so he is a stubby. Here is my lil chunky cookie boy. Shaz

It happens sometimes, when they get overenthusiastic cleaning them up after they're born. It happens with rats too. Sometimes they do it deliberately, but often (at least with rats) it's accidental.

I believe the female did it deliberately. All of her babies suffered the same tail eating mom. She was a pet store mouse that I got for free because a worker felt sorry for her. She had babies here, and ate three of them out of 7...I was horrified...Oreos sister had over half of her tail eaten, she was adopted out though...Oreo is the only one I kept, and his mom has since passed on. Oreo is a year and 3 months old as of four days ago. This was my first expireance with that and I was not happy either. Shaz

Poor boy. Very pretty though! I love black and white mice. They look like little cows!
