Spiny mice?

Does anyone here have spiny mice?

I am thinking about maybe getting a pair of them from a local breeder, and am looking for anyone that has them as pets to learn more information about them..

Do they make good pets? Do they stink? Are they friendly (like to be held, etc.)? Is one gender a better pet than the other?

I've been looking up information about them, but just wanted other peoples opinions on them.

I don't have any personal experience with spinys, but there's a lady at Oh Rats Rattery who raises/sells them. There's a message board on her site especially for spiny mice owners, you might like to try there, too.
