Post *Still* having intro problems

I got Shadow neutered almost 3 weeks ago, and I am still having intro problems. There first playdate was Saturday, and I held Shadow tightly, and/or held a towel between him and the other boys most of the time.

When I let him really meet with the other boys, the girls were there to. Faith has always had some problems with the other boys, particularly Kamio. She started wrestling with him, and some how Shadow joined in. I separated it before anyone got hurt, but Shadow was puffed up for a while.

Today, Kamio got out of his cage (I was in the room, but didn't know he was out), and was climbing on the cage Shadow was in. SHadow is fine with the girls (even Callie who he hasn't been introduced to) climbing on his cage, but he bit Kamio's toe.

Kamio's toe got bitten that way before, a few days before Shadow got neutered. He is fine, but that still does not bode well for coming intros.

Any suggestions? I dont know what I can do if Shadow stays so aggressive Shrug

I have one boy that hates all my five other males. I've heard that neutering doesn't always work for intra-rat aggression problems, but I would think your neutered boy might get along best with a couple girls and skip trying to intro him to your boys? maybe?

He's already living with spayed girls. The problem is that he is SO aggressive. He attacked Kamio when he (Kamio) managed to get out of his cage and into where Shadow was running, and beat him up pretty badley.

Sadly neutering doesn't always work - or only partially helps... but don't give up hope just yet. Go the full slow introduction route - vanilla, neutral areas etc. and see how it goes...

If the worst comes to the worst, then you might find you have to keep two lots of playtimes etc, and watch where they run/play but hopefully it will still be an improvement on how he was.

yeah, I have to rotate playtimes right now because my older trio of males is in their testosterone phase. sorry I misunderstood about the girls. he's a lucky boy to live with the ladies!
